No BIOS update available. Kernel: 7.0.0-38-generic (linux-generic-hwe, upgraded from 6.17.0-23 on 2026-10-05) Problem: After closing and reopening the lid (suspend to s2idle), the laptop takes about 6-12 seconds to wake. The delay started after the kernel upgrade. Findings: - Right after resume, ucsi_acpi logs: ucsi_acpi USBC000:00: failed to re-enable notifications (-110) The wake completes only after this timeout. The delay from "Restarting tasks: Done" to "PM: suspend exit" was about 12 s (e.g. 2026-10-09 00:40:29 -> 00:40:41). - Running "modprobe -r ucsi_acpi" before suspend removes the delay completely (gap drops to ~0.1 s). I now use a systemd system-sleep hook that unloads ucsi_acpi on suspend and reloads it on resume as a workaround. - Separately, charger plug/unplug events show: ucsi_acpi USBC000:00: ucsi_handle_connector_change: GET_CONNECTOR_STATUS failed (-110) (also -5 after a module reload) and ACPI errors from the embedded controller: ACPI Error: Thread X cannot release Mutex [ECMT] acquired by thread Y Aborting method \_SB.PCI0.LPC0.EC0._Q9E (AE_AML_NOT_OWNER) Charger status updates in the desktop are slow (udev events delayed ~8 s). - On every resume there is also a firmware error: ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Could not resolve symbol [^^^GPP5.RTKW], AE_NOT_FOUND Aborting method \_SB.PCI0.LPC0.EC0.UPHK / \_SB.PEP._DSM Expected: wake from suspend in about 1 s, without ucsi_acpi timeouts. Actual: 6-12 s wake delay tied to ucsi_acpi -110 timeouts. Not verified: whether the 6.17 kernel is unaffected (it is no longer installed), so this may be a regression or a firmware issue exposed by 7.0.
