Hardware: LG Electronics 16Z90U-H.AU87U1, SoundWire audio via sof-audio-pci-intel-ptl (0000:00:1f.3). Speaker amp is a Realtek RT1320-SDCA (SoundWire link 1, mfg_id 0x025d part_id 0x1320). Mic/headset codec is RT712-SDCA (link 3, part_id 0x0713). SOF firmware version 2.14.1.1 (IPC4). Kernel: 7.0.0-31-generic. linux-firmware 20260319.git217ca6e4. Both are the latest available via apt. fwupdmgr get-updates shows no relevant BIOS/EC firmware update. Symptom: No sound from internal speakers, in any application. pactl/wpctl status show the Speaker sink as RUNNING, unmuted, 100% volume, with an active stream connected to it. ALSA simple-mixer controls (Speaker, Post Mixer Speaker, Pre Mixer Speaker) are all on/100%. Despite this, no audible output. Isolated below PipeWire: Stopped pipewire/pipewire-pulse/wireplumber entirely and ran speaker-test -D hw:0,2 -c2 -twav -l1 directly against the ALSA hardware device — still completely silent. This rules out PipeWire/WirePlumber routing as the cause; the fault is in the kernel/DSP/amp path itself.
