Using a kprobe on the compiled acer_toggle_turbo.isra.0 symbol, every physical press of the Turbo button reaches acer_toggle_turbo(). In one test, 11 button presses produced exactly 11 kprobe hits with zero misses. The acer-wmi.ko shipped with this kernel contains: Acer Predator PH315-53 quirk_acer_predator_ph315_53 but no PH315-54 DMI entry. The existing PH315-53 quirk enables: .turbo = 1 .cpu_fans = 1 .gpu_fans = 1 This suggests that Predator PH315-54 may be missing an appropriate DMI quirk in acer-wmi. I have also reported this upstream to the platform-driver-x86 mailing list. I have not loaded or tested a modified acer_wmi module, so I am reporting this as a possible missing model quirk rather than claiming that reusing the PH315-53 quirk is proven safe.
