[Bug 2161093] Re: Black screen after boot with kernel 7.0.0-28-generic on AMD Radeon RX 580

Additional information: Since my previous update, the black screen now occurs after every package update that requires a reboot. The pattern is always the same: install package updates; reboot; black screen during boot; perform a hard reboot; the system then boots normally and continues to work normally until the next package update. I also tested the previous workaround using the kernel parameter amdgpu.dc=0. On previous kernels, this parameter allowed the system to boot normally. However, with kernel 7.0.0-28-generic, adding amdgpu.dc=0 now results in a permanent black screen during boot. In other words, the workaround that previously avoided the issue no longer works on the latest kernel. -- You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to linux in Ubuntu.
