[Bug 2154166] [NEW] Periodic screen blanking with Linux kernel 7.x

Public bug reported: Screen periodically turns off for ~1 second, then returns. Repeats indefinitely and happens on clean install of newer kernel (7.x series). Does NOT happen on 6.8 kernel, nomodeset stops issue but then you can't use normal display resolutions (only 800x600 available).
