Additional note: As a workaround, the system is currently running on kernel 7.0.0-14-generic. On this kernel, a separate backlight issue exists after resume — brightness is not restored to its previous level. This is fixed by adding acpi_backlight=native to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT.
