[Fix] Backport upstream patchset: https://lore.kernel.org/all/20241106130453.1741013-1-mpe@ellerman.id.au [Test Plan] Running all the kernel selftests for the PowerPC platform to see if they still times out. [Where problems could occur] The patches may introduce new test failures due to improved error detection that may reveal previously passing tests now fail.
