[Bug 2130553] Re: Jammy Linux: Introduced Warning with CVE-2024-53090 fix

This bug is awaiting verification that the linux-
azure-5.15/5.15.0-1107.116~20.04.1 kernel in -proposed solves the
problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If
the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-focal-linux-
azure-5.15' to 'verification-done-focal-linux-azure-5.15'. If the
problem still exists, change the tag 'verification-needed-focal-linux-
azure-5.15' to 'verification-failed-focal-linux-azure-5.15'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will
be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how
to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

Bug description:
[ Impact ]

While fixing CVE-2024-53090 (https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/kernel-team/2025-October/164082.html) a warning has been introduced in the kernel by adding a superfluous line of code.
This has no impact on the stability or the functionality of the code, just a new warning that shows up at compile time.

[ Fix ]

To fix this, a SAUCE patch will be sent to the Kernel mailing list to
remove the unnecessary line.

[ Test plan ]

To be compile tested

[ Regression potential ]

None
