Mario:
1) I don't manually track individual updates, I usually accept the "update now" option and assume all will be well. I checked /var/log/apt/history.log and recent updates appear to be package/kernel updates and not firmware. I will attach a copy from the time period where this issue came up. My best guess is its the update from the 6th but cannot say for sure. My current kernel is:
mike-cooper@Max:~$ uname -a
Linux Max 6.17.0-14-generic #14-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Fri Jan 9 17:01:16 UTC 2026 x86_64 GNU/Linux
2) When I first noticed the suspend/resume problem I didn't think of
making a bug report, but sought advice from an AI bot who suggested I
disable deep sleep. I sudo nano'd my way into /etc/default/grub and made
the change the AI proposed. That didn't fix the problem, and may have
exacerbated it, but it didn't cause it either because it already
existed. I can change back to: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet
splash" and force another suspend it you think that's the right thing to
do.
