[Bug 2080970] Re: Remove backport packaging logic for non-backport kernels

This bug is awaiting verification that the linux-gcp/6.8.0-1019.21
kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and
update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the
tag 'verification-needed-noble-linux-gcp' to 'verification-done-noble-
linux-gcp'. If the problem still exists, change the tag 'verification-
needed-noble-linux-gcp' to 'verification-failed-noble-linux-gcp'.


If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will
be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

[Impact]

There are packaging settings and scripts used specifically for
backported kernels. That should not be present in non-backport kernel
trees as it might result in unexpected packing behavior.
