[Bug 2084384] Re: CONFIG_READ_ONLY_THP_FOR_FS is not set

mm/Kconfig:

config READ_ONLY_THP_FOR_FS
bool "Read-only THP for filesystems (EXPERIMENTAL)"
depends on TRANSPARENT_HUGEPAGE && SHMEM

help
Allow khugepaged to put read-only file-backed pages in THP.

This is marked experimental because it is a new feature. Write
support of file THPs will be developed in the next few release
cycles.

are we looking at the same option?
Besides, do you have any number to back this change?

CONFIG_READ_ONLY_THP_FOR_FS is not set

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
CONFIG_READ_ONLY_THP_FOR_FS allows transparent hugepages to apply to
.text segments of executables (if they execute the appropriate

# CONFIG_READ_ONLY_THP_FOR_FS is not set

# lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 24.10
Release: 24.10
