[Bug 2065365] Re: AMD Strix s2idle failure due to AMD VPE driver init

This bug is awaiting verification that the linux-oem-6.8/6.8.0-1006.6
kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and
update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the
tag 'verification-needed-noble-linux-oem-6.8' to 'verification-done-
noble-linux-oem-6.8'. If the problem still exists, change the tag
'verification-needed-noble-linux-oem-6.8' to 'verification-failed-noble-
linux-oem-6.8'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will
be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how
to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

Bug description:
[SRU Justification]

[Impact]

AMD Strix s2idle failure due to AMD VPE driver init.

[Fix]

One commit from v6.9-rc2 (also backported to v6.8.7).

[Test Case]

Try suspend stress tests:

$ checkbox-cli run com.canonical.certification::stress-
suspend-30-cycles-with-reboots-automated

[Where problems could occur]

No.

[Other Info]

This should be landed to Noble and OEM-6.8 automatically when stable
fixes are rebased, however we may need it before that.

========== original bug report ==========

AMD VPE (Video Processing Engine) behavior breaks s2idle for AMD Strix
platform, so adding VPE power-up to ensure FW loading properly. The
patch landed in v6.8.7, oem-6.8 will have it once rebased.

Fix landed to v6.9-rc2:
https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/eed14eb48ee176fe0144c6a999d00c855d0b199b
